BRGR: OMG

Jucy Lucy. That’s what I ordered. After several rave reviews from friends, I knew I had to try BRGR, an upscale burger joint located in Prairie Village, Kansas. Of course I had already read the menu. I was torn between the Jucy Lucy (Worcestershire sauce, stuffed with American cheese and topped with mayo and lettuce) or the Ring of Fire (Pepper Jack cheese, jalapenos, a fried onion ring, and chili on top of a corn bun). In the end, the Jucy Lucy won out along with a trio of fries, truffle tater tots and truffle fries. While we waited on our order, I enjoyed a glass of white sangria (Savannah) because I’m not a beer girl.

I know, burgers and beer go together, but not for me. If you are a beer drinker, BRGR offers over 30 different types of import and domestic canned beers. When the burgers and fries arrived, I’m already disappointed that I’m probably not going to have room for dessert (did you hear that huge sigh?).

Crap, do I try the French fries or the tater tots first? And wait, what is this amazing dipping sauce for the fries? It’s green and I’m not sure what’s in it but it is gooooood. So, first bite of Jucy Lucy and yes, it is juicy and cheese is dripping out of the back and I don’t care. That’s what napkins are for. I’m certain that this is one of the best burgers I have ever had. The burger is cooked perfect for me (medium well) and the bun is fresh, that combined with the cheese stuffed in the middle makes this the ultimate burger.

Seriously, what is in this dipping sauce? I might just drink it. Next time, I’m going to have to try the Ring of Fire. I’m pretty sure I’m going to need more than one sangria to wash that one down (no objection by me). If you are in the mood for a great burger that won’t break the piggy bank, you can visit BRGR at two locations. Prairie Village is the original, but a second location in the popular Power & Light District in Kansas City, Missouri just opened in July. Enjoy!
